Seated Statue of Novelist Hoengbo Yeom Sang-seop

A small park next to Kyobo Book Centre along Cheonggyecheon in Jongno 1-ga holds a monument to modern Korean literature. A statue of novelist Yeom Sang-seop stands there, and his works include Pyobonsil ui Cheonggaeguri and Samdae. The park carries the line "People make books, and books make people." It was erected in Jongmyo Square for the 1996 Year of Literature and moved to Samcheong Park in 2009.
