The pointed fountain at the east end of Nakanoshima Park in Osaka sits at the tip of a small island between two rivers. Boardwalks run along both riverbanks, and bicycles can be rented to travel farther along the water. The area is quiet and uncrowded, and local residents spread mats for picnics, naps, and walks. Water does not flow from the fountain during many hours of the day.
