Atsuta Shingu is a large Shinto shrine in Atsuta Ward, Nagoya, dedicated to the Kusanagi sword. Visitors walk through grounds filled with trees hundreds of years old and can eat a simple meal at udon shops or cafes. Admission is free, photography and entry are restricted at the main hall, and walking the full grounds takes more than an hour. Those expecting elaborate sights will find the scenery plain.
